A payment issue has been reported on your account - Mail Chimp Spam !!!

Having spammed pretty much every other common service, our friends at thieving scumbag land have decided to target MailChimp customers this time.

The email is obviously arriving from an unknown address that does not support the sender policy framework and so it shows up in Outlook with the images withheld. This is a sure sign it is not from MailChimp and should alert any regular MailChimp users immediately, but just in case.

The second clue is that the email address itself is shown as auris.mx rather than a MailChimp address:

The links above titled: Monthly plans or credits page and Billing Team appear to have been incorrectly copied as they do not actually point anywhere which is another giveaway.

The actual link 'update billing information' doesn't work either as it just points to:

https://login.mailchimp.marketing/7632d622ccdf408e6f40f8978ee7b90c

Which doesn't appear to be a real domain or it has been withdrawn by the registrar. If it was indeed withdrawn then we are surprised that they were allowed to register and then obtain a certificate under a domain named identically to the largest email reseller service on Earth.

Either way, mark the originating address and site URL as dangerous...
