It's a very important question, is Quantum AI legitimate or is it just a bastard?
Let's have a look at the evidence.
Firstly, we need to know if it has a father and that father is Elon Musk. So did Elon Musk fund the creation of Quantum AI.
It is pretty unlikely. You see Elon Musk disconnected himself from Open AI when Tesla starting using AI to make self driving cars.
Elon Musk played a significant role in the development and promotion of both OpenAI and Tesla's self-driving cars. Here's a brief overview of his involvement with these organizations:
OpenAI:
-
Co-Founder and Early Supporter:
- Elon Musk was one of the co-founders of OpenAI, a research organization focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. OpenAI was founded in December 2015.
- Musk provided the initial funding for OpenAI and played a crucial role in its early development.
-
Mission and Goals:
- OpenAI's mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity. AGI refers to highly autonomous systems that can outperform humans in most economically valuable work.
- Musk, along with other co-founders, emphasized the importance of AGI being used for the benefit of humanity rather than causing harm.
-
Departure from the Board:
- In February 2018, Elon Musk left OpenAI's board of directors but remained a supporter of the organization.
- His departure was partly due to potential conflicts of interest with Tesla's own AI and autonomous driving efforts.
Tesla Self-Driving Cars:
-
Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD):
- Elon Musk, as the CEO of Tesla, has been a driving force behind the development of self-driving car technology at the company.
- Tesla introduced the "Autopilot" feature in its vehicles, which is an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) that includes features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping.
- Musk announced ambitious plans for "Full Self-Driving" (FSD), aiming to achieve fully autonomous driving capabilities in Tesla vehicles.
-
Controversy and Challenges:
- Tesla's Autopilot and FSD systems have faced scrutiny and controversy, with concerns about their safety and the accuracy of their "Full Self-Driving" claims.
- Regulators and safety advocates have raised questions about the marketing and deployment of advanced driver-assistance features.
-
Continuous Development:
- Despite challenges and criticisms, Tesla continues to develop and refine its self-driving technology, releasing regular updates to its vehicles' software.
- Elon Musk maintains that fully autonomous driving is achievable and crucial for improving road safety and reducing accidents.
Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI and initially supported its mission, emphasizing the importance of AGI benefiting humanity. He played a pivotal role in Tesla's pursuit of self-driving car technology, introducing features like Autopilot and Full Self-Driving. Musk's involvement with both organizations reflects his interest in advancing technology for the betterment of society, albeit in different domains.
So you see it is not very likely that he would co-found another AI company at the same time, especially calling it Quantum AI, which is the name of a Google product already.
Google Quantum AI is at the forefront of quantum computing, advancing the field and providing tools for researchers to go beyond classical computing capabilities. They offer software and hardware tailored for building novel quantum algorithms to solve practical problems. Located in Santa Barbara, they have a state-of-the-art quantum data center, research lab, and fabrication facility. Their research focuses on building quantum processors and developing novel quantum algorithms. They are committed to fostering an open and inclusive community for quantum computing development, with weekly open source meetings and opportunities for contributions. Google Quantum AI is also actively hiring talent to push the boundaries of quantum computing.
So there is no possibility that Elon Musk would market a product names Quantum AI whatsoever as it is already a Google product and they would put an end to it. This also means that Quantum AI cannot be a legitimate product as Google would not allow someone else to use the same name.
So what is this website: https://quantumai.co ?
It appears to be a UK business:
SO the claim: 'AS SEEN ON:' seems a bit odd as none of those are UK channels, so why would they feature a company with these details?:
Phone number: +442035970878 and Address: Quantum AI - UK Office, 35 John Street, LU1 2JE, Luton, United Kingdom
Especially as it says this on the site:
So it is possible they are offering CFD or options trading as these are prohibited in the US and even soliciting them there is an offence. It is also an offence in Canada too though, and they appear to have Canadian customers.
The trademark for Quantum AI in the UK is not taken, presumably because it is already registered in the US:
But the UK company trying to register it is not the same address as that website as it is Quantum Artificial Intelligence Plc 3 Pritchard Street, BRISTOL, BS2 8RH, United Kingdom
So what is at 35 John Street, LU1 2JE, Luton then? Well there have been sign-writers and education businesses but we verify that Quantum AI are now there. The phone number, being an 0203, is not a local number and does not seem to work. What we can tell you is that the top of the website reads:
Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong.
But the reviews are very favourable:

If we ignore the fact that 'Don't just take our words for it' doesn't really make sense in English, we can see the following further down the page:
“I've seen my portfolio grow fast and consistently thanks to Quantum AI. It's a game-changer for personal trading.” is definitely a positive remark, let's see if we can find any evidence of the existence of Lily Eng in Winnipeg, Canada.
OK no luck there, what about “This platform has revolutionised my trading experience. The accuracy and speed of its analysis have consistently exceeded my expectations.” by Lidia Eade in Norwich, UK
OK so the testimonials cannot be verified but that doesn't mean much. They might just not be easily discovered.

According to the website, the company was spawned in an MIT dorm in January 2021 by Finlay and Rajesh Gupta, but the only close links we can find to anyone with these names are university professors in San Diego. We can't find anyone called Finlay Gupta, but then if one was called Rajesh, Finlay is a bit of a departure to call the other son.
We cannot find any information on the domain name either, except that they use Cloudflare as their proxy, but then so do most people.
Problems begin to arise when we look further down the 'about us' page, where we see:
Quantum Trading Revolution

In the real world the integration of quantum computing with artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of active research and development, but it's still in its early stages. Here are a few of the reasons it is still a long way off and the confirmations that the :Quantum AI UK website is just a pack of lies.
-
Quantum Computing Basics: Quantum computing operates fundamentally differently from classical computing. It uses quantum bits (qubits) which can exist in multiple states simultaneously, unlike classical bits that are either 0 or 1. This allows quantum computers to process vast amounts of data much more efficiently for certain types of problems.
-
Potential for AI: In theory, quantum computing could significantly enhance AI capabilities, especially in areas requiring complex computation, like optimization problems, material science simulations, and drug discovery. Quantum algorithms could potentially solve problems that are intractable for classical computers.
-
Current Status: As of now, most quantum computers are in the experimental phase. They are not yet powerful or stable enough for widespread practical use, primarily due to challenges like error rates and maintaining quantum coherence (qubits are extremely sensitive to environmental factors).
-
Quantum Machine Learning: Researchers are exploring quantum machine learning, where quantum algorithms are used to perform tasks such as pattern recognition and data classification more efficiently than classical algorithms. However, this field is still largely theoretical and experimental.
-
Hybrid Approaches: Some current approaches involve hybrid systems that use both classical and quantum computing. These systems use quantum computing for specific tasks within a larger classical computing framework.
-
Technological and Practical Challenges: Quantum computing faces several technological hurdles, including hardware stability, error correction, and the development of practical quantum algorithms. These challenges must be overcome before we can fully realize quantum AI.
So while quantum computing holds great promise for enhancing AI, it's still in a nascent stage with significant research and development ongoing. The full integration of quantum computing into AI is a potential future development but not yet a current reality.
The presence of positive reviews for Quantum AI's services, as mentioned on their website, should be approached with a healthy degree of skepticism, especially considering the current state of quantum computing technology. It is quite simply complete bullsh*t. Here are a few points to consider:
-
Marketing vs. Reality: Companies often use marketing language that may not fully align with the current technological capabilities. The term "Quantum AI" can be particularly appealing and futuristic-sounding, which makes it effective for marketing, even if the actual technology is not yet fully developed or implemented.
-
Misinterpretation of Technology: Sometimes, the terminology like "quantum" can be used more for its conceptual or metaphorical implications rather than its strict technical meaning. It's possible that what Quantum AI is offering under the banner of "quantum computing" might not fully align with the scientific and technical definition of quantum computing as understood in academic and research circles.
-
User Reviews: User reviews can be subjective and are not always reliable indicators of technological efficacy. They can be influenced by various factors, including marketing, user expectations, and individual experiences, which might not necessarily correlate with the actual technological advancement or effectiveness of a product.
-
Lack of Peer Review and Validation: In the field of advanced technology like quantum computing, peer-reviewed research and validation by the broader scientific community are crucial for verifying claims. Without such validation, it's difficult to assess the accuracy of the claims made by any entity about their use of quantum technology in practical applications.
-
Potential for Other Technologies: It's also possible that Quantum AI's platform uses advanced classical computing techniques or AI algorithms that are effective in their domain, but these might not be based on genuine quantum computing as it is understood in the scientific community.
Given these points, it's essential to critically evaluate such claims and reviews, especially in fields involving cutting-edge technology like quantum computing and AI. It's always advisable to seek information from multiple sources, including independent reviews and expert opinions, when assessing the credibility and effectiveness of technology-based products and services. If you look closely at the Quantum AI website it clearly states that:
