google chrome fails to block Firebase App Phishing Scams
Time and time again we are seeing that Google are failing to take action and block phishing scams on Google Firebase app sites from Chrome whilst Microsoft Edge seem to have them already blocked every time.
Are we seeing the curse of Internet Explorer affecting what has been widely regarded to be the best browser for some time, Google Chrome? Has Google Chrome become a victim of popularity, or is it simply the refusal of the Google teams to block firebase sites that are allowing these scams to flourish? The number of people running Firebase phishing scams would indicate that they are recovering money and/or information which holds value.
The same apps appear time and time again which surely must mean that there is a reasonable level of success scamming web users, none of whom are using Microsoft Edge as MS seem to be all over blocking these false sites.
Amazing as it seems, it is now the opinion of this blogger that you are safer using the web as a Microsoft Edge user than you are a Google Chrome user.
If your Google login is the same password as your email and you are caught out by a Firebase phishing attack because you use Chrome, you risk all your other passwords (yes every password Chrome has ever remembered) as well as your bank cards and accounts as the browser amy very well hold most of your banking details.
If you are using an MS machine, it is time to switch to Microsoft Edge and time to go back to Firefox or Safari on your Mac.
